Where do I start?

Training isn’t just about taking classes or your dog learning how to sit. It’s about helping you communicate with your dog and helping your dog communicate with you!

Introductory Consultations

Every household and every dog is different. In order to create your training blueprint, we first need to figure out where we are and where our end goal is, in order to figure out the path to get there. This is best done with a consultation. If you’re unsure of where to begin, schedule a phone call and we can discuss what’s best for your situation, prior to your consultation.

Introductory consultations are 90-minutes and can be in person or virtual.

Consultations for dogs under 6 months old are 60-minutes and can be in person or virtual.

Consultations regarding cases of aggression towards humans are sometimes best done in two-parts, one part virtual and one part in person. These consultations are split into two- 45 minute sessions.

Follow Up Training Support Options

Depending on your situation, one single session might not be enough. Think of dog training like seeing a personal trainer for your fitness goals. You could meet once, learn how to properly use the machines and go about your fitness path on your own. However, if you have a recurring injury or a timeline on meeting your goals, you might need a more guided approach. You can choose the level of guidance you receive post-consultation. We’ll discuss next steps during our initial consultation, to help you choose. If you decide to get started on your own and check back in for support later - I’m happy to help.

Follow Up sessions are done in 30 and 60 minute sessions.

Due to travel time, 30 minute sessions are only available for residents of Fairfield, Vacaville, Dixon, Winters, Davis and Woodland.

Training Support Programs

Sure, individual sessions can be helpful, but a well-structured support system can be a game changer! Programs are similar to packages but with the goal of making impactful change. It’s more likely that life gets in the way of package training. In theory, it sounds great - buy bulk sessions and meet with the trainer as it works for my schedule, what’s not to like? While this set up works for many families, it doesn’t work for everyone. Families who need a bit more urgent behavior change, would be better off to sign up for a program. The Training Programs can help with consistency and either build in between owner sessions, or help establish a steady training foundation in a shorter amount of time.

Support Programs include multiple layers of support. Each program has a combination of Virtual or Phone Check-In Sessions (30 minutes), Individual Sessions (60 minutes) and Online Content like Demo Videos and Handouts. The Programs also include the cost of the Initial Consultation. Clients who did not initially sign up for a Support Program at the time of their consult, can register for a Program within 30 days of their Initial Consultation with a credit of their consultation fee.

Imagine me as your coach, while your family and your dog are the players. If the team needs to improve, the coach arranges practice and conditioning sessions. The coach may set up the team, but the coach never plays in the game! At the end of the day, it’s the players who ultimately make the changes and win the games. The goal of all Support Programs are to support your team.

Day Training

Day Training is meant to add an extra layer of support onto your Training Support Program. Many people are familiar with the idea of Board & Trains. This is Day Training, with the major difference that your dog stays home with you! During the Day Training Program I’ll work on building your dog’s foundation of skills. While I’m laying the foundation during sessions, you’ll still need to practice at home! In order to see real behavior change, we’ll need to work together. Owner participation is instrumental in successful change.

Depending on your needs and schedule, your Support Program could include sporadic or regular Day Training visits. Each dog and family have different needs and capacities, adding Day Training onto your Support Program helps take a little load off of you and helps meet your dog’s needs.

Day Training is available as an add on to clients who are participating in an ongoing Support Program and residents of the following cities: Fairfield, Vacaville, Dixon, Davis, Winters and Woodland.
